Over 50 Litter Free Ambassadors (LFA) from ITE College East, donned the eco-friendly colours of green and white, to patrol the grounds of the College from 11.30am – 12.30pm on 15 March 2011, all in the name of kicking off the National Environment Agency (NEA)’s new anti-litter campaign – “Do the Right Thing. Let’s Bin It!”
The purpose of the campaign was to instill a sense of responsibility in individuals to keep Singapore clean and green and to encourage them to take action to bin their litter. Training was also conducted by professionals engaged by NEA to help all LFAs assimilate their roles and responsibilities, conduct themselves well, teach them the know-hows of engaging the public and techniques in handling angry and rude public.
In line with the campaign, the Litter Free Ambassadors (LFA) from ITE College East assumed their roles dutifully and were assigned to patrol littering hotspots within the campus. They also helped advocate good habits of waste disposal (by offering souvenirs to those who practiced good anti-littering habits) and gave proper advice to fellow students and members of public who littered…so WATCH OUT litterbugs!

Vivo Green’s birthday falls on the 13th July 2010. She represents the commitment of College East (CE) to the environmental. The five leaves on her represent the 4 schools and the College Services division in CE, ie CE’s commitment towards environmental care as one entity.
